Lets Talk About it! Dutch Reformed Church
Archtober Newburgh is an annual festival of 25+ free events that celebrates the city's rich architectural heritage, connects people to resources and promotes local initiatives in the community.
We know that the Dutch Reformed Church "DRC" is an architectual gem by Alexander Jackson Davis. We know that Davis designed and built many buildings, the majority of which were examples of neo gothic architecture and very few greek revival buildings. We know that the DRC is in very poor shape and is in depsertate need of intervention. What we in Newburgh may not have contemplated is "what does th DRC mean to us as a community"? "What would it mean to lose the DRC in a city that has already seen so much loss". Come explore these questions with a panel of Newburgh natives, historians,and placemakers.
