Peter Spear, co-founder of Futures Hudson, ran for public office this past year with a campaign rooted in deepening local democracy. Drawing on his work building spaces for imagination and civic dialogue, Spear’s central focus was establishing civic assemblies—regular gatherings where residents can deliberate, set priorities, and shape policy together.
