Faith More from RUPCO will provide an overview and answer questions about several housing programs that RUPCO administers:

  • Vacant Rental Improvement Program (VRP)
    A New York State grant program that supports repairs and rehabilitation of vacant rental units and other vacant spaces to increase the supply of affordable apartments for low- and moderate-income renters outside of New York City. It helps owners bring vacant spaces in small-scale properties back into productive use as safe, quality, long-term rentals.

    Provides grants of up to $125,000 to assist low- to moderate-income property owners in constructing or rehabbing Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs)—either attached to a home (like a basement apartment) or detached (like a converted garage or cottage)—to create affordable housing.

  • Newburgh Targeted Home Improvement Program (T-HIP)
    Offers grants of up to $40,000 to help low- to moderate-income homeowners in the 12550 zip code make essential home repairs.

  • Climate Friendly Homes Fund (CFHF)
    Provides financing for small multifamily rental buildings (5–50 units) across New York State to replace older, inefficient systems with all-electric, high-performance heating, cooling, and hot water systems. Administered by the Community Preservation Corporation (CPC).
