Rehab 101: Historic Tax Credits with the NYS Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation

Historic Tax Credits are a crucial tool for making restorations more affordable to ordinary individuals. It works by reimbursing a percentage of qualified expenses. Beth Campbell and Mariana Sontes from The New York State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) will highlight the NYS Historic Homeowner Tax Credit program which can provide up to 20% tax credit to owners of qualifying residential properties. She will also discuss the NYS Historic Commercial Properties Tax Credit which when combined with the Federal Rehabilitation Tax credit can provide a total of 40%-50% tax credit for qualified rehabilitated expeneses.
